World Cup 2026: US Embassy in Ghana offers priority visa access for FIFA ticket holders

In a Facebook post, the embassy disclosed that supporters who purchased tickets directly through FIFA.com and opted into the FIFA Priority Appointment Scheduling System (FIFA PASS) would receive preferential access to visa interview slots ahead of the competition.

Great news for FIFA World Cup 2026™ ticket holders who will travel to the United States this year — we’re giving you prioritised access to U.S. visa appointments through FIFA PASS. If you bought a ticket on fifa.com for any of the games in the United States and opted in for FIFA PASS, schedule your visa interview appointment ASAP!” the embassy stated.

The embassy was, however, clear that priority scheduling does not guarantee visa approval.

All visa applicants undergo screening and must demonstrate they qualify for a visa,” it stressed, adding that scheduling through FIFA PASS does not guarantee a visa will be issued.

To access the priority appointment system, applicants must first complete the FIFA PASS opt-in form through their FIFA.com accounts, fill out the DS-160 visa application form, upload a current photograph and pay the applicable visa fee before scheduling an interview. Eligible ticket holders will gain access to priority slots where their information matches FIFA records.

The embassy also urged fans without valid U.S. visas not to delay. “If you need a U.S. visa and don’t have one yet, NOW is the time to apply!” it advised. Ghanaian travellers, who fall outside the U.S. Visa Waiver Programme, will require valid B1/B2 visitor visas and are encouraged to apply well in advance. Spouses and minor children accompanying ticket holders may also benefit from FIFA PASS appointments if they attend the interview together.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, with the U.S. staging the majority of matches. The expanded tournament will feature 48 national teams, including a record 10 from Africa.
