Ghana’s Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing reliable electricity to support the country’s industrial sector.
According to the minister, a strong and productive industrial base depends heavily on consistent and dependable power supply. He stressed that ensuring stable electricity remains a top priority for the government as it works to boost manufacturing and economic growth.
Dr. Jinapor made the remarks after engaging with bulk power consumers from the manufacturing and industrial sectors to better understand the challenges they face regarding electricity supply. The meeting formed part of ongoing efforts by the government to strengthen collaboration with key industry players and improve the performance of the energy sector.

The engagement also involved major stakeholders in Ghana’s power sector, including representatives from Electricity Company of Ghana, Northern Electricity Distribution Company, Public Utilities Regulatory Commission, Energy Commission, Volta River Authority and Bui Power Authority.
During the discussions, industry leaders highlighted concerns about power reliability and operational challenges affecting their businesses. The minister assured participants that government is committed to working closely with stakeholders to address these issues and ensure dependable power for industries.
He emphasised that delivering stable electricity is essential to improving productivity, supporting industrial expansion, and driving national development.
