Serial Killer Sentenced to Life Imprisonment by Wa High Court

Man who confessed to killing 23 people across several communities receives life sentence with hard labour.

The High Court in Wa has sentenced a man identified as Shariff Abdulai, popularly known as “Cristos,” to life imprisonment with hard labour after he admitted to killing 23 people in different parts of the country.

Abdulai was arrested following a police investigation that linked him to a series of murders across several communities. During interrogation, he reportedly confessed to carrying out multiple killings in various locations, raising alarm among residents and law enforcement authorities.

According to details presented in court, most of the victims were killed in Wa, while others were murdered in nearby towns including Bole, Banda Nkwanta, and Bamboi. His arrest came after police connected him to the murder of a man named Issah Yahaya, which later became the central case brought before the court.

When the case was heard, Abdulai pleaded guilty to the charge of murder. The presiding judge subsequently sentenced him to life imprisonment with hard labour.

The conviction has been described as a significant step toward justice for the victims and their families, bringing closure to communities that had been shaken by the string of killings. Authorities have also reiterated their commitment to protecting the public and ensuring that those responsible for violent crimes are brought to justice.
