Popular Ghanaian relationship counsellor Cyril George Carstensen Lutterodt, widely known as Counsellor Lutterodt, is expected to appear in court on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, following his arrest over controversial public remarks.
The outspoken media personality was picked up by the Ghana Police Service after a video of his comments circulated widely on social media and triggered public backlash.
Reports indicate that Lutterodt allegedly urged Ga youth to exhume the body of late highlife legend Daddy Lumba from his East Legon residence, claiming the burial site was on Ga land and had not followed the appropriate traditional processes.
The remarks sparked outrage among sections of the public, with critics describing the comments as insensitive and potentially capable of provoking unrest.
Police subsequently arrested the counsellor as part of efforts to prevent possible disturbances, especially amid heightened tensions surrounding disputes over the burial arrangements of the late musician.

He has been charged with offensive conduct conducive to a breach of the peace under Section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29). Authorities say he may also face an additional charge of inciting violence under provisions of the Criminal Offences Act and the Public Order Act, 1994 (Act 491).
The court appearance is expected to determine the next steps in the case as investigations continue.
