Fire Aid UK has donated a fire tender and additional firefighting equipment to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) to help strengthen emergency response operations across the country.
The donation was officially presented during a brief ceremony held at the Accra International Airport, attended by officials from Ghana and the United Kingdom.
The equipment is expected to enhance the operational capacity of the GNFS as the service continues efforts to improve fire prevention, rescue operations and emergency response nationwide.

Officials at the ceremony described the donation as a significant contribution toward supporting the work of firefighters, particularly in responding to fire outbreaks and other emergencies in both urban and rural communities.
The partnership between Fire Aid UK and the Ghana National Fire Service forms part of broader international cooperation aimed at improving firefighting infrastructure and safety standards in Ghana.
The donated fire tender, together with the additional firefighting equipment, is expected to support frontline personnel and improve the efficiency of emergency interventions.
The Ghana National Fire Service has in recent years called for increased logistical support to address operational challenges, including limited firefighting equipment and growing emergency demands across the country.

Authorities say the latest support from Fire Aid UK will contribute to ongoing efforts to strengthen the country’s emergency response systems and protect lives and property.
The ceremony at the Accra International Airport concluded with appreciation from officials of both countries, who reaffirmed the importance of continued collaboration in enhancing public safety and disaster response in Ghana.
