Carrick Relishes Hard-Fought Win as United’s Unbeaten Run Continues

Manchester United climb to fourth after narrow victory over Everton.

Head coach Michael Carrick says he anticipated difficult tests after his blistering start as interim manager but was pleased to see his side grind out a hard-earned win against Everton F.C. at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Manchester United secured a 1-0 victory courtesy of a 71st-minute strike from Benjamin Šeško, who came off the bench to make the decisive impact.

Šeško had also rescued a point for United in the previous round, netting a late equalizer in the Red Devils’ 1-1 draw with West Ham United F.C..

The result extends United’s unbeaten run under Carrick to six matches, including five wins. The impressive form lifts the club to fourth place in the table, just three points behind Aston Villa F.C. in third.

Reflecting on the performance, Carrick admitted the contest was far from straightforward.

“We had the first four games, four wins in a row and some really good performances in there, so I expected a period where we’d have to find ourselves a little bit and find results,” he said.

“It didn’t really come easy for us tonight. It was one of those nights. We had to dig deep and it was a bit of a struggle at times, but sometimes they are the best ones to win.”
