Ghana, World Bank Strengthen Energy Partnership

Ghana’s Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, has engaged officials from the World Bank in fresh discussions aimed at deepening cooperation in the country’s energy sector. The meeting focused on strengthening an already long-standing partnership that has supported key projects and policy reforms over the years.

At the centre of the talks were efforts to improve efficiency across the sector, particularly in power distribution, while addressing persistent financial and operational challenges. The minister stressed the need for stronger performance within key institutions to reduce losses and enhance overall service delivery.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to building a more resilient and sustainable energy system, with collaboration expected to support ongoing reforms and boost investor confidence. The engagement also aligns with broader efforts to stabilise Ghana’s energy sector and expand reliable power supply for economic growth.
