The strike action by the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) is expected to continue after negotiations with government representatives failed to produce any significant breakthrough.
The union says discussions aimed at resolving the dispute have stalled, leaving workers with little choice but to maintain the ongoing nationwide industrial action.
CLOGSAG leaders indicate that the strike will remain in place until government demonstrates a clear commitment to addressing the concerns that triggered the protest. According to the association, the lack of concrete outcomes from the talks has deepened frustration among its members.
The strike began earlier this week, with CLOGSAG demanding the implementation of a revised salary structure and improvements in conditions of service for its members. The action has since affected operations across several government institutions and local government offices.
Union officials say they remain open to further dialogue but stress that negotiations must yield tangible progress before workers return to their posts.
Meanwhile, the dispute has drawn the attention of the National Labour Commission, which is expected to play a role in facilitating discussions between the government and the workers’ union.
Until a resolution is reached, CLOGSAG says its members will continue to stay away from work nationwide.
